On Saturday 3 May, Stuart O’Hara and Marianna Cortesi perform Alice’s Five Armitage Songs - commissioned by the 2024 &Piano Festival - settings of Poet Laureate Simon Armitage’s poems the event horizon, Close Season, The Catch, Give, and Mist.

Commissioned by The Green Man Art Gallery to celebrate their 10th Anniversary, A Green Gathering, this commission presented a unique opportunity to combine dramatic vocal writing with composition for mixed ensemble; resulting in a cantata inspired by Angela Carter’s retelling of the Erlking myth: The Golden Thread.
